Chicago Tribune March

march (1892)

W. Paris Chambers, composer

Paris Chambers’ most popular march was written for one of America’s leading newspapers in 1892. The Chicago Tribune was founded in 1847 and played a leading role in the development of what was then known as the West. W. Paris Chambers (1854-1913) was a magnificent cornet soloist who performed throughout this country as well in Europe and Africa. He is best known today as the composer of such great marches as Boys of the Old Brigade, March Religioso, Northwind, and the great Chicago Tribune.
