Dance of the Witches is taken from composer John Williams’ film score
to the movie The Witches of Eastwick, originally a novel by John Updike.
The story presents three single female friends who "conjure up" their ideal
man in the form of Daryl van Horne, who just happens to be the Devil in human
form.
He then bestows magical powers upon them, making them witches.
The Dance of the Witches occurs during the friends’ discovery of their
new abilities, and are eager to experiment with them.
