Peter I. Tchaikovsky, composer
Entry March opens Act Three of Peter I. Tchaikovsky’s well known
ballet, Swan Lake.
This ballet, composed by Tchaikovsky in 1876, has remained popular due to
its romantic subject matter and the beautiful waltzes and dances it contains.
This festive march, transcribed for band by William J. Bellis, exhibits the
classical A-B-A form.
The ending of the march builds to a brilliant climax.
