Fantasia for Band

Vittorio Giannini, composer

This piece was commissioned by the Northern Westchester and Putnam County Music Teachers Association in New York, and was Giannini's third work for band. The Fantasia is romantic in spirit and opens with a dissonance between the melody and harmony. Lyric and dramatic moods contrast throughout the composition with varying tempos as it moves to its majestic conclusion.
