Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky is primarily remembered as the great Russian
composer of romantic and melodious symphony, ballet, and opera.
Tchaikovsky expressed himself through his music in a very personal wayhe
towers as one of the giants of his period.
His Majestic March was recently transcribed for symphonic band by
William H. Silvester, conductor of the Eastern Wind Symphony and the College
of New Jersey Wind Ensemble.
Mr. Silvester guest conducted the Concord Band in 2004.
