symphonic march
Clifton Williams, composer
A stirring symphonic march, The Sinfonians was commissioned by
Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America.
"Hail Sinfonia! Come, brothers, hail!"
Thus begins the principal song of the fraternity, with words by Charles Lutton
set to music of Arthur Sullivan.
After an extended fanfare, the theme underlying these opening words is stated
by the horns.
The song is then completed and embellished in the distinctive style of the
composer, Clifton Williams.
