The Concord Band Performs a Summer Retrospective at Wood
Park
CONCORD, MA July 20, 2004
For one of its final performances of the season, the Concord Band presents
"A Summer Retrospective" on Wednesday evening at Wood Park. The program
includes a variety of your favorite tunes, including rousing marches,
singable standards, Broadway show-stoppers, and classics from the master
composers. Whether your tastes are strictly classical or you prefer
lighter fare, the band is sure to get your toe tapping so grab your
dancing shoes, pack a picnic, and join the band for a tuneful celebration
of summer in the park!
The Concord Band performs Wednesday, July 28 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at
Wood Park, Park Street, Hudson. The rain location is Hudson Town Hall
auditorium, 78 Main St., Hudson. Admission is free.
The Concord Band, founded in 1959, is one of the leading community
concert bands in the United States. It is well known for its innovative
programming and the exceptional quality of its commissioned pieces. It
presents both formal and Pops concerts throughout the year. Its summer
concerts at Fruitlands Museums in Harvard, Massachusetts, are attended by
more than 10,000 people each year. The band's Music Director is
Dr. William G. McManus.
