A Summer Retrospective
CONCORD, MA July 20, 2004
The dog days of August may be still to come, but the Concord Band wraps up
its summer concert series on Thursday, July 29th at Harvard's Fruitlands
Museums. For its final performance of the season, the band will perform a
variety of your favorite tunes, including rousing marches, singable
standards, Broadway show-stoppers, and classics from the master
composers. So pack a picnic and join the band for spectacular sunset views
and a tuneful celebration of summer!
The Concord Band performs at Fruitlands Museums in Harvard, MA every
Thursday night through July 29th at 7:30 PM. The gates open at 5:00
PM. Bring a picnic supper or purchase grilled items and snacks on
site. $12.00 Parking Fee, $10.00 for Museum Members.
The Concord Band, founded in 1959, is one of the leading community
concert bands in the United States. It is well known for its innovative
programming and the exceptional quality of its commissioned pieces. It
presents both formal and Pops concerts throughout the year. Its summer
concerts at Fruitlands Museums in Harvard, Massachusetts, are attended by
more than 10,000 people each year. The band's Music Director is
Dr. William G. McManus.
