Concord Band to Perform Summer Concerts on Wednesdays at Fruitlands Museum
Harvard, Mass., June 9, 2009 The Concord Band returns to its
summer home on June 24 to start its 24th season of concerts at Fruitlands
Museum in Harvard, Massachusetts.
This year the concerts are scheduled for Wednesday evenings, with
Thursdays as rain dates.
Each Wednesday for six weeks, Music Director James O'Dell and the Band
will present a new, lively musical program to delight audiences of all
ages.
- June 24: The season opens with "50th Anniversary Highlights,"
commemorating the Band's first fifty years (rain date June 25).
- July 1: Celebrate "Independence Day" with a program full of
marches and patriotic selections (rain date July 2).
- July 8: "Screen and Stage Spectaculars" will feature
everyone's favorite movie themes and Broadway melodies (rain date July
9).
- July 15: Tap your toes to Ellington, Armstrong, Gershwin and
"All That Jazz." (rain date July 16).
- July 22: From Concord to Sedona, explore a musical
"Continental Divide" (rain date July 23).
- July 29: The final concert is "A Summer Retrospective"
recapping the highlights and favorites from all the summer programs
(rain date July 30).
Bring family and friends to enjoy a relaxing summer evening with great
music in a spectacular setting.
Pack a picnic, or plan to visit the refreshment center on the grounds.
Concerts begin at 7:30 PM each Wednesday from June 24 through July 29, at
102 Prospect Hill Road, Harvard, Massachusetts.
(Gates open at 6:00 PM.)
Admission: $15.00 per car ($12 for Fruitlands Museum members) with
parking on the grounds.
